self-signed certificate, what to put in the domain name

  docker, nexus3, self-signed, ssl, tls1.2

i have a private sonatype nexus repository installed on a VM and i want to be able to access it from another VM running on the same network using docker, for this you can either configure docker daemon to ignore certificates check – which is not recommended due to known bug according to sonatype documentation – or creating a self signed certificate and i’am trying to implement this solution, the problem is that i don’t know what to put in the domain name, logically i would put the IP address of the host on which nexus is running but in some tutorials in order to generate the certificate you need to enter the domain name and the ip so my question is : what to put in the domain name property ?
this is the tutorial: link
