Getting "rails command not found error" after using "–path=vendor/cache" in bundle install

  bundler, docker, ruby-on-rails

I am building a webapp and using docker. Inside docker I am installing some required gems and one of the gem was giving error – " … is not yet checkedout, please run bundle install".
So I edited my bundle install command to bundle install --path=vendor/cache. Everything runs smoothly, but now I am getting rails: command not found error.

How can I fix this?

Edit: I am not in a position to use bundle exec.
