Process States for Unikernels and Containers

I’m looking into containers and unikernels and wondering how process states differ from the generic 5-state process model.
For example, windows and linux each have different process states e.g.
• Running
• Ready
• Blocked
• Suspend
• New
• Exit

What are the states for containers/unikernels as they seem to be non-existent from research?
Or do they rely on the underlying OS’s process states?
