How to make my nginx config file persistent in my VMware linux in docker container?

I installed the nginx, made a static html file and made it persistent like this:

sudo docker container create --name websrv -p 80:80 -v `pwd`/webroot:/usr/share/nginx/html nginx

Now even if I delete the container then later create it again, I get back my html file what just shows on screen (in browser): Hello World!

I would like to achieve to make the nginx config persistent also in

 `pwd`/webconfig

I read something that nginx config is in “/etc/nginx” – but how to add multiple parameters to the command? Should it be something like this?

sudo docker container create --name websrv -p 80:80 -v `pwd`/webroot:/usr/share/nginx/html `pwd`/webconfig:/etc/nginx nginx

If I try this it says: “invalid reference format”

I am really new in this docker world. I have only terminal on my linux VM.
